Welcome folks to the first ever Metric Times !

Well, let me first start by saying what a ride it has been.

This project has not only shown the strength of the staff of Metric Island but also the Community. I have never seen a stronger and more contributing community in my entire life. You're all certainly one for the record books.

Metric has a countless number of surprises on the verge of release and a lot in the process at the moment, and we as staff are certainly happy with the outcome.
Now what I would love to talk to you about is the wonderful release of this Newspaper, it's been under construction for a while but we finally have brought it to its release! The website on the other hand was a doozie to get all up and running again but I must say our Web Development Team did a wonderful job getting everything up and running in time for May.

As a special release of The Metric Times we gave Citizens a chance to enter their very own article which we will announce the winners down below.

That's all for me, I'm out but sure not gone!
Hope to see you all soon,

Mega
Metric Island Founder

Welcome one and all to the inaugural Metric Times newspaper, Metric Island 's official newspaper delivering you the latest news, views, gossip and so much more.

Mega and I have been extremely busy over the past few weeks with getting this newsletter up and running, revamping the website, coding the client, working on graphics, liaising with staff, monitoring the forums and of course the usual late night meetings in the boardroom with pizza and coke. The tops of both our desks haven't been seen in months as the paper work piles up every day. We have been receiving numerous emails lately and although we love replying to them and having a chat to every community member it may take us a day or two until we actually find your email in our pile, so don't fret if you don't receive a reply straight away.

Our Island Order has undergone quite a number of changes with staff changes and position changes. Our Founder Mega, or as he is known in the office, Island God has been extremely busy running and managing the Island as myself and others have been tied back with other commitments. I, as Island Manager have been busy working with the client, server coding, replying to emails, working with the website and newsletter and finally liaising and reporting back to Mega.

Although the Metric Island office is currently very busy everything is finally falling into place and our future looking the even clearer.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact one of the Island Order, we will be more than happy to have a chat to you.

It looks like winter has finally settled in, I think it's time to put away the boardies and thongs and out come the Ugg Boots and trackies.

From all of us here in the Metric Island office, have a wonderful day.

Philleh
Island Manager

Welcome to the column of Metric-Island Events!

The condition and range of events has been quite dismal in the past couple of months, but things are about to turn for the better. The Metric-Island events team members have developed and been revamped!

 What about competitions?

The competitions on Metri -Island will be occurring at least once every two months, and when the forum builds further in numbers, the events would become more recurrent. The endeavour of the Metric Island Events Team is to create an environment that can sustain numbers of people for personal and social entertainment while Metric Island is being further designed and tweaked.

We want competitions with aspiring values to aim for!

The events team hears ya! Before the competitions are underway again, one of our members is researching printable vouchers for Australian wide stores, for example Sanity, hence no personal information is given out, like addresses for the prizes. It is the desire of the events team to eventually give out more Metric-Island related prizes, but for the time being, motivating citizens for prizes that are of immediate use is somewhat more desirable. If the social network of metric-island can become higher due to interest in competitions, Metric-Island can become developed quicker.

If you want to add your 2 cents into what has been said above, or have any enquiries please contact the events team via email on events@metric-island.com or contact myself, Emily. Once we know more, you’ll know more! Updates on prizes and new competitions will be posted at a further date.

Thank you,

Metric Island Events Team.
